The Board of Directors approved the appointment of a task force to look into
the development of a national points system at its meeting on December 4, 2007.
This would allow horses used in shows, on organized trail rides, or other forms
of competition to accumulate points toward permanent awards. The Board
welcomes input of members and their ideas on this project.  click here.

In their regular meeting on April 3, 2007, the Board of Directors passed a new DNA ruling. Any filly born in 2006 must be DNA tested prior to registration. The dam of any filly born in 2007 must be DNA tested prior to registration of her filly. The 2007 filly does not have to be DNA tested. Beginning in 2008, any producing mare and all breeding stallions must be DNA tested before their offspring are eligible for registration.
