Missouri Fox Trotting Horse Breed Association Historical Museum
Information and Forms

The Missouri Fox Trotting Horse Breed Association Historical Museum is located in the Hall of Fame Room at the MFTHBA Office Building in Ava, MO.  The museum is available for both the general public and members of our association to enjoy exhibits, peruse educational and reference material, and learn about the State Horse of Missouri. Plans for the museum include a computer work station and a display area for exhibits. The goal of the museum is to tell the story of the Missouri Fox Trotting horse and the culture that produced it in such a way that a visitor who knows nothing about the breed or the culture can relate and appreciate it

Please stop by and enjoy our exhibits and new computer work station. We will also have our DVD "Parade of Champions" available for purchase.

Members are also encouraged to share stories from the early fox trotting horse days.  We already have a collection of early stories started and are looking for more written accounts to include.  If you have a written account of the horses, people, etc., documenting the development of our breed submit it to the office in an envelope marked "Attention History Committee."  Oral accounts can be given by interview by appointment.  All interview appointments must be made through the committee co-chairs Janet Esther, or Florine Barham in order for the interview to be considered for the museum.

Below are some of the forms currently available to those who wish to contribute, loan, or donate items to the museum.  Among these forms are:
